Is the Pro Hunt app really free?

Yes, the Pro Hunt app is 100% free for all users (adventurers, outdoor enthusiasts, and international guests). We do not charge subscriptions for finding lodges, using the panic button, or joining the community chat. Our platform is supported by the verified lodges and service providers who pay a flat advertising fee to be listed.

How does the Panic Button work?

The in-app panic button is directly linked to a 24/7 national control room. When activated by holding it for 3 seconds:

  • Your live GPS location is transmitted.
  • Your pre-loaded medical information (allergies, blood type) is retrieved.
  • The closest private security firm, medical evacuation service, or SAPS station is dispatched to your exact location depending on the emergency type selected.

Does Pro Hunt take a commission on lodge bookings?

No. We connect adventurers directly with the lodge owners and Professional Guides via our secure in-app messaging. We take exactly 0% commission on any hunts booked. What you agree upon with the lodge is what you pay them directly.

How do you verify the lodges and Guides?

Safety and authenticity are our top priorities. Every lodge must supply their official registration documents and proof of adherence to South African wildlife regulations. Professional Guides must supply their valid permits and association memberships. Scammers and illegal outfits are strictly banned.

Can international users buy gear on the Marketplace?

While anyone can browse the marketplace, purchasing items (especially firearms or ammunition) is strictly subject to South African law. Firearm transfers require SAPS approval and the proper documentation. Most marketplace transactions are therefore domestic, but international guests can easily purchase non-regulated gear like clothing or optics before arriving for their safari.
